The PCAP protocol specifies the Positioning Calculation Application Part (PCAP) between the Radio Network Controller (RNC) and the Stand-Alone SMLC (SAS) of a UMTS network. It fulfills the RNC-SAS communication requirements and thus defines the Iupc interface and its associated signaling procedures.
