The GSM and UMTS PLMN support a range of packet-based services in the same network. In order to enable operators the ability to provide a commercially viable service there is a need to provide charging functions. The Charging Management services and functionalities are defined through a set of technical specifications of the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) organization.

The CDR_3GPP Asn1API is compliant with the following standards of the 3GPP :

• TS 32.235 V5.5.0 (2005-09) : this defines the Charging data description for application services (Release 5),
• TS 32.205 V5.9.0 (2005-03) : this defines the Charging data description for the Circuit Switched (CS) domain (Release 5),
• TS 32.225 V5.B.0 (2006-03) : this defines the Charging data description for the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) (Release 5),
• TS 32.015 V3.12.0 (2003-12) : this defines the Call and event data for the Packet Switched (PS) domain (Release 1999),
• TS 32.215 V5.9.0 (2005-06) : this defines the Charging data description for the Packet Switched (PS) domain (Release 5),
• TS 1215 V6.3.0 (2002-12) : this defines the GPRS Charging (Release 1997),
• TS 1215 V7.7.0 (2002-12) : this defines the GPRS Charging (Release 1998).
